This responsive HTML5 website redesign and custom WordPress theme development project for Mersive, an innovative video technology company in Denver Colorado, was implemented as an responsive HTML5 website featuring HTML5 video throughout the site design. Mersive has been a long time client, and we absolutely loved working on this responsive HTML5 website project, and continuing to enhance the custom WordPress theme with additional functionality as requested by the client.
Responsive HTML5 Website Design Process & Considerations
At the beginning of this responsive HTML5 website redesign project, we worked closely with the client to brainstorm creative ideas for the new site design, and how to best convey the video technology aspects of their business to new customers. Key elements of this HTML5 site redesign include a clean, persistent site navigation that is “affixed” to the top of the pages during scrolling, and the intentional decision to have a clean primary navigation with no sub menus. The HTML5 videos throughout the site design have a subtle texture applied over the HTML5 video elements so create a nice “tech” feel, but also act to hide any artifacts from heavy video compression, which also insures the site loads as quickly as possible. Brand colors and accents are also used throughout the HTML5 mobile responsive site design to tie everything together in an elegant and user friendly way.
The entire site is built as a fully custom WordPress content management system that we developed for Mersive on this html5 site redesign project. The client has complete control of all the site content, as well as a tight integration with SalesForce for turn-key lead generation throughout the HTML5 website. In addition to custom WordPress CMS development, we leveraged the Twitter Bootstrap framework to jump-start the mobile responsive portion of this HTML5 site redesign project. We also built and implemented a custom trial download user flow that is also integrated tightly with SalesForce, and offers customers instant access to trial software, and the client access to reporting and analysis on software downloads.
